FAQ
Bikes with fixed wheels only have one gear and do not have a freewheel. This means that the cranks are constantly rotating, meaning that the cadence depends on the speed. Our Fixie is a single-speed bike that can be switched from freewheel to fixed wheel with a flip-flop rear wheel hub.
A single speed bike is a bike with only one gear. There are single speeds with a fixed gear and those that have a freewheel. The former are also called Fixie (from the English “fixed gear” = rigid gear). When the wheel turns, the pedals automatically turn with it.
The best way to do this is to come to our bike shop or contact a bike mechanic near you.
Our bike mechanic recommends one check every year. You can come to our bike shop at any time for your bike service. If you need to repair your bike, you can also contact us.
Yes, we offer 2 different sizes of children's bikes, each with an adjustable saddle: a balance bike for kids between 2 and 5 years and a children's bike for kids between 3.5 and 6.5 years.
Children's bike 12 inches: Available in pink, chrome, white and light green. Each 12 inch children's bike comes with a lightweight steel frame and a woven bike basket.
Children's bike 16 inches: Available in pink, light green and light blue. Each 16 inch children's bike comes with a lightweight steel frame and front and rear brakes.
Yes, bicycle lighting is mandatory in Switzerland. We have battery-operated bike lights with LEDs in silver and black. If you prefer a battery-free light, our light with a magnet system is just right for you.
Yes, a basket can be mounted on the Siech Cycles. We have baskets in silver, black and hand-woven bicycle baskets made from natural willow. The bike basket made of natural willow is also available for children's bikes, in brown and black.

Yes, you can buy the right bicycle accessories from us. You can find the following stylish accessories for bicycles in our online shop: bicycle basket, luggage rack, fenders (mudguard), grips (handlebar grips), handlebar (handlebar), bicycle saddle, bicycle light, bicycle bell and bicycle lock. We also offer trouser straps, which act as trouser protection. The Velo accessories are suitable for all Siech cycles except for the Fixie single-speed bike.
If you visit our store in Zurich, you can also buy a bicycle helmet or bicycle socks for your bike.
The steeper the paths you want to overcome in your everyday life, the more gears are suitable for this. Our Fixie Bike is suitable for flat paths; for inclines we recommend Siech Cycles with 8 or 16 gears.
8-speed bicycles : 8 Speed Lady Comfort, 8 Speed Lady City, 8 Speed Men Classic, 8 Speed Men Race, 8 Speed Men Urban
16-speed bikes : 16 Speed Lady City, 16 Speed Men Urban
This depends in particular on the type of terrain and the length of the routes you want to cover with your bike. A racing bike is more for those who like it fast and maneuverable, while you can also travel comfortably with a city bike.
City bikes : A city bike is characterized by a narrow tire thickness. This means you are agile and can keep up well in city traffic. If you only ride on straight terrain, you should ideally get a Fixie single-speed bike. For asphalt roads with gradients, a bike with gears, such as the men's bike 8 Speed Men Urban, is suitable. The sporty 8 Speed Men Race racing bike is also ideal for city traffic.
Bicycles for asphalt and dirt roads : Siech Cycles with wider tires are ideal for dirt roads as they offer better grip. The women's bike 8 Speed Lady Comfort as well as the 8 Speed Men Classic and the 16Speed Lady City are perfect companions for nature.
The frame size depends on your height. Therefore, a larger frame size is suitable for taller people and a smaller one for smaller people.
Every women's bike at Siech has a frame size of 48cm and is suitable for a body height between 155cm and 175cm. The men's bikes have a frame size of 58cm and are suitable for a body height of 160cm to 185cm.
With these dimensions, we have adapted to the average of all Swiss people, so that our bikes fit everyone if possible. In addition, the size of the handlebars and saddles of the bikes can be adjusted, which enables the most precise adjustment to your needs. Are you unsure which size (women's bike or men's bike) suits you best? No problem, you can stop by our store in Zurich at any time and take a test drive.
It is primarily important that your new bike feels good and that you feel comfortable while cycling. The right frame size must be selected. In addition, your future bike should be suitable for your desired area of use: whether it's a city bike, a racing bike or an all-rounder bike, with us you'll find everything you need for your daily bike route.
